Thomas Weal died from wounds on 21st November, 1914, after having been sent to a base hospital on the coast, but as yet there is no information as to when and where he was wounded. The 2nd Essex battalion was part of 12 Brigade, 4th Division, that had arrived on the Western Front at the start of the war in August, 1914. |
